If you answered YES to any of these questions, let's talk today about how I can support you.
Over the last two decades, I've helped hundreds of people—at various career stages and positions in dozens of organizations across five continents—develop strategies, implement tactics, and get the feedback they need to fulfill their potential individually and collectively.
Through living abroad and other travel, I quickly became mindful of the impacts of cultural imperialism and tuned into the principle that there is no one right way to do anything. In each place, I learned to appreciate the tensions between what they were trying to achieve and how the prevailing cultures of the people, their organizations, and geography might offer opposing or supporting forces. This led to both co-design and co-influence: we made things together, and we learned how to accommodate new information into our respective models of the world.
While the pretext of most of this work was often around a corporate transformation of some kind—technological, Agile, Lean, digital, product, customer experience—there was always one thing in common:
The bravest people—willing to persistently ask and seek answers to existential questions of themselves in balance with taking tangible action, iteratively building their enabling systems, and holding themselves accountable for results AND continuous discovery—were the ones most likely to succeed.
This attitude is at the core of what I call Adaptive Actualization, a methodology for living authentically while reaching our greatest potential. It means:
- Becoming more sensitive to the signals in ourselves and the world that could impact our future
- Exploring new frames of thinking and beliefs that can shape the options and potential we see in front of us
- Shaping our focus to ensure that the intentions and actions we set to take are in balance between our individual and collective needs
- Making strides through deliberate practice and making things that amplify our talents and passions and persist our presence
- Finding our spirit in new places, remembering that we are spiritual beings having a human experience rather than human beings having a spiritual experience
From this methodology, I've created an Everyday Actualization Strategy, a five-phase adaptive cycle with specific strategies and tactics that I offer as a sensible default when looking for a way to actualize better. As there is no one right away, I continue to welcome the experience of co-design and co-influence.
I've designed my community, coaching, and consulting around this premise. Its simplest expression means creating a flywheel for a joyful life.
